"As RighteousGIRLS, New York-based flutist Gina Izzo and pianist Erika Dohi rattle speakers and expectations with stop-time razzle, vocal (flute-talk) and electronic (phaser) effects (NYC Jazz Record)."
RighteousGIRLS (presented by ChamberMusicNY) make their debut at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the NY Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center on April 29th, 8PM. Their program draws from the worlds of contemporary classical and avant garde jazz featuring works by Ambrose Akinmusire, Molly Joyce, Judd Greenstein, Paula Matthusen, Masatora Goya, Vijay Iyer, and Andy Akiho incorporating complex meters, improvisation, FX, and nonconventional forms. Virtuosic, adventurous, and charismatic, RighteousGIRLS play with white-hot intensity and cool control. To Listen: here
